Cancellation & Refund Policy
How to reschedule or cancel, and how refunds and event deposits work.
Last updated: 16 October 2026
1. Introduction
At The Blueprint Canine Services, we understand that plans can sometimes change and unforeseen circumstances may affect your ability to attend a booked session or workshop.
We aim to provide a fair, flexible and transparent cancellation policy that respects our clients’ circumstances while protecting the time, preparation and resources required to deliver our services.
We kindly ask all clients to familiarise themselves with the following terms before making a booking.
2. Hourly Studio Sessions, inductions and packages
Hourly Studio Sessions, inductions and packages are booked on an individual appointment basis, with dedicated time reserved for you and your dog.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
We kindly request a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if you are unable to attend your scheduled session.
Wherever possible, we would always prefer to reschedule your appointment rather than cancel it entirely.
24 hours’ notice or more
- You may reschedule your appointment at no additional cost, subject to availability.
- If you prefer to cancel rather than reschedule, you may request a full refund of any session fee paid.
- We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate an alternative appointment date.
Less than 24 hours’ notice
- We may be unable to offer a refund or complimentary rescheduling, as the appointment time has been reserved specifically for you.
- Any cancellation charge will be reasonable and proportionate to the losses incurred.
- We will consider exceptional circumstances on an individual basis.
Missed Appointments
If you fail to attend your appointment without providing notice, the session fee may be retained where reasonable and proportionate.
Late Arrivals
If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible.
Late arrival may result in a shortened session to avoid disruption to subsequent bookings. The original appointment end time will normally remain unchanged.
3. Trainer-Led Workshops
Our trainer-led workshops are carefully planned and may have limited spaces available.
To ensure that we can prepare effectively and provide the best possible experience for all attendees, workshop bookings are subject to the following terms.
Workshop Deposits
A £25 deposit per place is required to secure your booking on a trainer-led workshop, unless a different amount is clearly stated at the time of booking.
The deposit is normally non-refundable, subject to your statutory consumer rights and applicable consumer protection legislation.
The deposit helps secure your place and contributes towards the preparation, administration and resources required to deliver the workshop.
The remaining balance is due 10 days before the workshop.
Workshop Cancellations & Refunds
We understand that circumstances can change and will always aim to approach cancellations fairly and reasonably.
Cancellations
- If your place can be filled: We will provide a full refund of the amount you have paid, including your £25 deposit.
- If your place cannot be filled: We will normally retain the £25 deposit and refund any remaining balance wherever possible, taking account of reasonable costs and losses incurred.
- Alternative workshop dates: Where possible, we may offer the opportunity to transfer your booking to another suitable workshop, subject to availability.
A workshop place will be considered successfully filled when another paying attendee has confirmed and paid for the replacement booking.
We encourage clients to notify us of cancellations as soon as possible so that we have the best opportunity to offer their place to another attendee.
Any retained deposits or cancellation charges will be fair and proportionate and subject to applicable consumer law.
Transfers to Another Workshop
If you are unable to attend your original workshop, please contact us as soon as possible.
We may be able to transfer your booking to another suitable workshop date, subject to availability.
Transfers are not guaranteed, particularly where workshops have limited spaces or the event date is approaching.
4. Cancellations by The Blueprint Canine Services
Occasionally, unforeseen circumstances may require us to cancel or postpone a studio session or workshop.
These may include:
- Trainer illness or unforeseen personal circumstances
- Severe weather conditions
- Safety or welfare concerns
- Travel disruption
- Issues with the premises
- And/ or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Where we cancel a studio session, you will be offered:
- A rescheduled appointment at no additional cost; or
- A full refund of the cancelled session fee.
Where we cancel a workshop, you will be offered:
- A transfer to a suitable alternative workshop, where available; or
- A full refund of all amounts paid for the cancelled workshop, including your deposit.
We will endeavour to provide as much notice as reasonably possible.
5. Dog Health, Behaviour and Safety
The safety and wellbeing of all dogs, handlers, trainers and visitors are extremely important to us.
We ask clients to inform us in advance of any relevant health concerns, behavioural difficulties or other circumstances that may affect participation.
We reserve the right to make reasonable adjustments, postpone or discontinue a session or workshop where genuine safety or welfare concerns arise.
Where a booking cannot proceed safely, we will discuss suitable alternatives, including rescheduling or any applicable refund entitlement.
Any charges or deductions will be assessed fairly, taking account of the circumstances and your statutory consumer rights.
6. Female Dogs in Season
At The Blueprint Canine Services, we understand that female dogs may come into season around the time of a scheduled session or workshop.
Hourly Studio Sessions
Female dogs in season are welcome to attend their scheduled hourly studio sessions.
We simply ask that owners inform us in advance so that we can make any necessary arrangements to ensure a comfortable and appropriate training environment.
Trainer-Led Workshops
Female dogs in season may also be able to attend trainer-led workshops.
Where necessary, we may adjust the running order of activities, training exercises or individual participation to accommodate a female dog in season while maintaining a safe and positive experience for all dogs and handlers.
We kindly ask owners to notify us as soon as they become aware that their dog will be in season at the time of the workshop.
Cancellations Due to Seasonal Behavioural Changes
We recognise that hormonal changes during a season can affect a dog’s behaviour, confidence, concentration or general wellbeing.
If an owner feels that their dog would be better suited to postponing or missing a session or workshop due to behavioural or welfare concerns associated with being in season, we fully respect that decision.
However, as we are generally able to accommodate female dogs in season, our standard cancellation and refund terms will continue to apply, including the relevant notice periods for hourly studio sessions and trainer-led workshops.
As always, we encourage owners to contact us as early as possible to discuss any concerns or potential adjustments.
7. Exceptional Circumstances
We appreciate that unexpected emergencies can occur, including illness, family emergencies or unforeseen veterinary issues.
If you need to cancel due to exceptional circumstances, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Although we cannot guarantee a refund or alternative booking in every situation, we will always aim to consider individual circumstances with understanding, fairness and reasonable flexibility.
8. Refund Processing
Where a refund is due, we aim to process it within 14 days.
Refunds will normally be issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to process the transaction.
9. Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights.
Under UK consumer protection legislation, certain bookings made online, by telephone or through other distance-selling methods may be subject to a statutory 14-day cancellation period.
If you expressly request that a service begins during the statutory cancellation period, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already delivered, provided the relevant legal requirements have been satisfied.
Certain bookings may qualify for statutory exceptions depending on the nature of the service.
All cancellation charges and retained deposits will be assessed fairly and proportionately in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.
10. How to Cancel or Reschedule
If you need to cancel or reschedule a studio session or workshop, please contact us as soon as possible.
