The Blueprint Canine Services
Yorkshire’s new canine brand, formed around a simple desire: that spending time with or training your dog should be provided in a welcoming environment and include access to the best equipment.
Our Story
How did all this start? Well… I was in the office one Friday and one of my work colleagues showed a picture of a black dog in a rescue kennels in Leeds. They were making an urgent plea for his adoption as he “wasn’t doing well in kennels”. His rescue name was Coil, he was 12 months old and a Doberman x Cane Corso.
I wasn’t really ready for a dog. My house was mid-refurb and I worked a lot… with hindsight, too much.
I couldn’t stop thinking about his little face. So I drove to the kennels the following day in the hope of seeing the dog. I was told he had a “meet and greet” later that day and I’d need to complete a form. I went away thinking he’d definitely be adopted, but they called me that night and said his meet and greet hadn’t gone very well, and would I like to meet him the next day? Errr, YES!
I arrived. They brought him out and he was wired – very bouncy (not much has changed). He was skin and bone, and they said he was struggling to hold weight as he was so stressed and just wasn’t interested in food. He’d bitten his tail badly too.
We went for a walk and he started to relax a little. He leaned on my legs for a fuss, and at that point I just knew he was coming home with me.
That was August 2023, and Ralph and I have been on a wild adventure since then. Lots of fun and lots of training. We spent a lot of time in cold fields, car parks and training venues with limited equipment and facilities. Roll forward to September 2025, and a decision to leave the successful full-time career I’d built over 30-plus years, with a new desire to provide a better experience for dogs and their owners.
Setting a new standard – that was when The Blueprint Canine Services came to life, and then the long hunt for a suitable venue began. But here we are: The Blueprint Studio will formally open its doors on 1st December 2026, with a few exciting events before then.
Ralph and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed creating it.
